This class invites participants of all ages into a playful and creative exploration of movement and dance-making with instructor and choreographer Jessie Natusch. Using accessible contemporary dance techniques, guided improvisation, and simple compositional tasks, participants will explore how movement is created individually and together. Parents and children are encouraged to participate side by side, but the class is open to anyone, regardless of whether they attend with a parent or a child. The emphasis is on curiosity, imagination, and shared creative practice, with multiple entry points for varied movement experience. Following the class, a work-in-progress excerpt from old soul / new soul will be presented by Jessie Natusch Dance Works as part of the Arts Fest’s Dance Matinee program.
