Join curator Torreah “Cookie” Washington and many of the featured artists for a public reception in honor of the 19^th Annual African American Fiber Art Exhibition, Regal Threads: The Majesty of Blue and Purple. The artworks selected for this year’s exhibit honor the royal lineage within us all—our creativity, our heritage, and our divine right to adorn the world with beauty and meaning. Artists were invited to stitch, weave, or sculpt their vision of majesty—interpreting “regal” in their own unique way using two of the most regal colors—blue and purple. Cookie will make remarks and acknowledge the artists in attendance at 6:30pm. Live music will be provided by local jazz pianist Richard Harris White Jr. Refreshments will be served.
